 Located in the south-western part of Ardeche region, with the Mont Gerbier de Jonc, Sources of the Loire to the north, and the Tanargue plateau to the south, the Ardéchoise Mountain offers a lot of things.
BETWEEN SOURCES AND VOLCANOS,
The natural elements (fire, water, air, and ground) can be seen through landscapes formed in the north by the volcanic activities and marked in the south by the granite blocks and the crystalline stones. An immense natural water tower, the Ardech Mountain is the area of natural water sources. It is at the foot of Mont Gerbier de Jonc where the sources of the Loire run.
The Ardeche, a river famous for its gorges, was born in a mountain close to the isthmus of Chavade.
AGRICULTURE AND GASTRONOMY...
On top of these vast heights, at more than 1000 m of altitude, agriculture is quite alive and is primarily geared towards beef breeding. A long culinary tradition is based on the quality of the natural products: mushrooms, trout, bilberries... and the know-how of the local producers: sausage and cheese makers, bee-keepers...
